Growing Great White Shark
Great White Shark, also known as “Peacemaker”, is an Short Photoperiod Plant-dominant strain (80/20) that can be grown both indoors and outdoors. When grown indoors, it takes about 65 days to harvest. If you wait a week longer, you can expect an extra resin and a special sweet taste. The yield for growth indoors is 500 to 800 gr/sqm. Great White Shark is also very good for SoG and ScrOG.
When grown outdoors, Great White Shark is ready around the end of September in the Northern Hemisphere and around the end of April in the Southern Hemisphere with a yield of up to 1000 gr/plant.
In appearance, Great White Shark has buds that are white with a blanket of crystals outlined with orange and brown hairs. The buds are described as footballs in shape with calyxes that are very fluffy. When Great White Shark is ready for harvest, you’ll begin to notice reddish-orange pistils.
As a feminized cannabis seed, Great White Shark only produces female plants. Male plants can often over pollinate the females’ flowers which can impact the quality of any output. Also, the female cannabis l. Short Photoperiod Plant plants produce buds that can be smoked or turned into edibles.
The Potency content of Great White Shark is 14.94% which is not considered as high as with other strains, but it is still potent. We’ll take a closer look at what this means for the endocannabinoid system in a moment. The rest of the cannabinoid profile consists of a CBD (Cannabidiol) level of .18% and a CBN (Cannabinol) level of .25%.

Flavonoid and Terpene Profile of Great White Shark
Terpenes are chemical compounds that produce strong scents and also affect the endocannabinoid system. They determine the scent and flavor profiles of high potency hemp strains.
There are three main terpenes found in Great White Shark that contribute to its flavonoids and aroma. These are Myrcene, Humulene, and Caryophyllene.
Myrcene – This is commonly found in hops plants, lemoncannabis, and thyme. The flowers of the cannabis plant also contain myrcene. It is one of the most abundant terpenes found in cannabis plants. This terpene’s name is derived from the Mycia sphaerocarpa. This is a medicinal shrub native to Brazil that is used in traditional medicine to treat diabetes, diarrhea, dysentery, and hypertension.
Humulene – This is the key component of the hops plant. It’s also found in clove and ginger plants. It is also known to bring subtle notes of wood, spices, and herbs. When found in cannabis strains, it is mostly in long photoperiod plant strains. It is also among one of the most common terpenes found in cannabis strains.
Caryophyllene – This is found in herbs and vegetables such as cloves and black pepper. It is also found in cinnamon and hops. It also floral and earthy notes to musky and citrusy ones. Caryophyllene also contains a rare cyclobutene ring that isn’t found in any other cannabis terpene.
Great White Shark carries a subtle, citrus aroma with a zesty wood, clove, and lavender scent. There is an earthy-skunk smell as well to go along with its skunky taste.
How Great White Shark Interacts with the Endocannabinoid System
Before looking at how Great White Shark interacts with the endocannabinoid system, we must first understand what the endocannabinoid system does for the body.
Understanding the Endocannabinoid System
The endocannabinoid system is a cell-signaling system in the nervous system that regulates a variety of immediate functions in the body (Zou, Kumar, 2018). These include:
- Mood
- Immune response
- Inflammatory response
- Pain response
- Nausea and vomiting response
- Memory
- Appetite
- Sleep
The endocannabinoid system has three parts:
- Endocannabinoids or endogenous cannabinoids are produced by the body to keep things running smoothly.
- Endocannabinoid receptors are found throughout the body. Endocannabinoids bind to the receptors to tell the endocannabinoid system that it needs to take action. There are CB1 and CB2 receptors. When endocannabinoids bind to them, it can result in less stress, a greater appetite, and better sleep. CB2 receptors are mostly found in the peripheral nervous system and immune cells. When endocannabinoids bind to these receptors, they can reduce pain and inflammation and boost immune response.
The effect each strain will have on the body will depend on which endocannabinoid it binds to and where the receptor is located.
- Enzymes break down endocannabinoids after they complete their functions.
The endocannabinoid system is important because it keeps the body healthy and allows it to maintain homeostasis.
The Effects of Great White Shark on the Endocannabinoid System
Tetrahydrocannabinol (Potency) and terpenes determine the impact Great White Shark will have on the endocannabinoid system. Terpenes in cannabis l. Short Photoperiod Plant is absorbed by the body and can also act on the endocannabinoid system (Pamplona, da Silva, Coan, 2018.) to support the effects of Potency and CBD.
Research shows the terpenes found in Great White Shark may have the following effects:
- Myrcene- This terpene is known to be a powerful antioxidant. One study found that it could protect the brain from damage following a stroke. Another study found that it has similar effects when it comes to protecting heart tissue.
- Humulene- One Study shows that humulene may help to prevent allergic reactions and asthma. In animals, humulene is shown to reduce allergic inflammation in the airways. Another study showed that humulene could have protective effects on cells and possibly guard against cancer.
- Caryophyllene- Studies have shown that this terpene may have anti-inflammatory effects that could help to reduce pain. One study done on animals showed that it may help to reduce nerve pain and pain from inflammation.
The impact Great White Shark has on the endocannabinoid system is also determined by the Potency level of each strain. Potency is a cannabinoid that is present in strains of cannabis l. Short Photoperiod Plant. It is responsible for generating that “high” feeling that many people encounter as well as triggering a psychoactive response. The Potency content of Great White Shark is 14.94% which is not considered as high as with other strains. But, it is typically recommended for those with a high Potency tolerance level.
The Psychoactive Effects of Great White Shark
Great White Shark is also known as “The Peacemaker” because it makes users feel happy and at ease. It produces a very strong body effect that is long-lasting. Since the effects can be strong, it is typically only recommended for experienced users. Users have reported that it has helped with anxiety, pain, and stress. In the medical community, Great White Shark has earned a reputation for helping to treat migraines, spasms, and arthritis. It has also been used to treat chronic fatigue.
Since Great White Shark is a more short photoperiod plant-dominant strain it causes a more physiological response with more relaxing qualities versus those that are long photoperiod plant-dominant giving more mentally invigorating effects.
